Rhys Carter (born 14 March 1984) is an Australian professional basketball player who currently plays for the Sydney Kings of the National Basketball League (NBL). He attended the Australian Institute of Sport from 2001 to 2002. ==Professional career== In 2002, Carter joined the Victoria Giants as a development player for the 2002–03 season. In 2003, he signed a full contract with the Giants for the 2003–04 season. In 2005, Carter signed with the West Sydney Razorbacks and played with them until 2008. In July 2008, Carter signed with the South Dragons for the 2008–09 NBL season,〔(Dragons get Carter! )〕 going on to average 8.0 points, 2.1 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game in the Dragons' championship winning season. In 2009, Carter signed with Gothia Basket of Sweden for the 2009–10 season, where he played in 40 games and averaged 16.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.9 steals per game. In 2010, Carter signed with the Adelaide 36ers for the 2010–11 NBL season, going on to average 8.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in 22 games for the 36ers.〔(Player statistics for Rhys Carter )〕 He missed six games during the season due to a back injury which also limited his court time upon return.
